In an era where black and brown bodies are slain daily, Spike Lee has birthed yet another thought provoking film to combat this. “BLACKKKLANSMAN” follows Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer who successfully infiltrates the local Ku Klux Klan.

Hate, police brutality, and prejudice are rooted deeply in our nation, but Lee wants to make an impact. He states, “That’s my hope…but you know what? A lot of times people don’t get it right away. They didn’t get ‘Bamboozled’ right away.(Eurweb)”

Unlike D.W. Griffith’s “A Birth of A Nation”, Spike Lee questions the motives of the KKK and uncases the heroism it takes to undo the senseless hate.

For more exclusive information on the film here is a special Q&A at the Cannes Film Festival. If you haven’t already go see it. BLACKKKLANSMAN is in theaters now!
